I'm the founder and managing member of the Law Office of William J. Whewell, LLC.  I've consistently been recognized for my skill and advocacy by Superlawyers Magazine, who graciously named me a Rising Star in the Connecticut bar every year since 2017. I've been featured in Connecticut Magazine as one of the best attorneys in the state for several consecutive years. I've also been recognized as one of the Top 10 Attorneys under 40 by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys.

 

I graduated from Quinnipiac University, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. I went on to receive my Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law where I was awarded for my distinguished academic achievement in First Amendment Law.

 

Upon graduating from law school, I was admitted to the Connecticut bar and began practicing with a reputable civil litigation firm in New Haven. I quickly established a track record of securing favorable results for my clients.  I then joined a firm in Stratford where I was responsible for nearly all of the firm's litigation matters in addition to chairing the firm's criminal defense practice. 

 

In 2017 I was elevated to partner at that firm, and in 2019 the name of the firm was changed to incorporate me as a named partner.  I continue to zealously advocate for my clients and have successfully litigated a wide variety of cases as lead counsel from their inception to trial, judgment, and/or appeal.

 

I am admitted to practice in the Supreme, Appellate, and Superior Courts of Connecticut, United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, and for the Southern District of New York. I am a member of the American Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. I love golfing in my spare time.
